Two of Shelby County’s five varsity football teams have continued into the area round of the Texas UIL Football Playoffs.
The Joaquin Rams defeated the Centerville Tigers last week by a 38-28 score. This week the Rams are at 7-4 and will head to Bullard’s Panther Stadium on Friday, November 22, 2024 for a 7 p.m. kickoff with the Cooper Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are 7-4 and beat Big Sandy 56-41 to advance to the area round.
The Shelbyville Dragons beat the Jewett Leon Cougars by a 62-7 score. This week the Dragons record stands at 9-2 as they head to Nacogdoches Dragon Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff in a Area round playoff on Friday, November 22 against the Beckville Bearcats. The Bearcats are 10-1 and defeated Rivercrest by a 56-28 score to advance last week.
