All five Shelby County Varsity football teams will be playing their third game of the season this week.
The Center Roughriders fell to the visiting Jefferson Bulldogs last week by a 51-28 score. This put Center’s record at 1-1 going into this Friday’s home game with the Gladewater Bears. Kickoff at Roughrider’s Stadium is on Friday, September 13, 2019, and will be at 7:30 p.m. The Bears lost at Atlanta High School by a 35-28 score. This evened the GHS record to 1-1.
The Joaquin Rams are now 2-0 overall after beating Ore City at Rebels Stadium by a 34-13 score. The Rams will host the Shelbyville Dragons whose record fell to 1-1 after a 47-7 road loss to the Sabine Cardinals. Kickoff on Friday is at 7:30 p.m.
The Tenaha Tigers are 2-0 after beating the Lovelady Lions at home by a 47-0 score. The Tigers will host the Bishop Gorman Crusaders on Friday and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Gorman is 0-1 and lost to Covenant Academy last week by a 47-12 margin.
The Timpson Bears fell to 0-2 with a 45-0 loss at home to Alto at home last Friday. The Bears will host Big Sandy this Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Big Sandy Wildcats are 1-1 and beat Alba-Golden 60-34 last week.
