Last week all five of Shelby County’s varsity football teams played district games.
The Center Roughriders fell to the Jasper Bulldogs by a 47-14 score. The ‘Riders are 1-8 and they will now travel to Rusk for their final District 10 4A-2 game. CHS has a 1-3 conference mark and need a win to have a chance at the fourth seed for this years bi-district playoffs. Rusk is 7-2 overall and they have a third place seeding with a 2-2 conference mark. The game will be at Eagles Stadium on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.
The Joaquin Rams fell at home to the Timpson Bears by a 47-0 score last Friday. The Rams are now 5-3, 2-1. They will travel to Garrison on Friday November 5, for a 7:30 p.m. game with the Bulldogs. Garrison is 3-4, 1-2. They won over the San Augustine Wolves on October 22 by a 31-30 score.
The Bears are 8-0 overall. The 47-0 win over Joaquin gave them a 3-0 District 10 2A-1 record. They have clinched the first place seeding for the conference. They will finish conference play by hosting the Shelbyville Dragons (6-3, 2-1) on Friday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m. The Dragons beat San Augustine 36-0 last Friday.
The Tenaha Tigers finished their regular season with a 42-8 win over the Overton Mustangs. They captured the District11 2A-2 title with a 6-0 mark. Their regular season record mark stands at 8-2. They will enjoy a bye week on Friday and await the announcement of their bi-district opponent.
