Shelby County Football for Week 4

This week three of Shelby County’s five varsity football teams won their non-district games.

The Center Roughriders improved their regular season record to 3-0 with a 35-28 home win over the North Desoto La. Griffins. The ‘Riders will travel to Daingerfield on Friday, September 20, 2024 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Tigers Stadium. Daingerfield is 0-3 this season and suffered a 42-6 loss at Pleasant Grove last week.

The Joaquin Rams are 2-1 after beating the visiting Tenaha Tigers (0-3) by a 59-7 score. The Rams will travel to Grand Saline High School on Friday, September 20 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Indians Stadium. The Indians are 3-0 after a 65-14 road win over Rains High School. Tenaha will host Linden-Kildare at Tenaha’s Raymond Jackson Stadium on Saturday, September 21 at 6 p.m. The LKHS Tigers are 0-3 and suffered a 54-0 loss to Hughes Springs last week.

The Shelbyville Dragons are 3-0 after an exciting 54-48 Homecoming win to the visiting Waskom Wildcats on Friday. The Dragons travel to Mount Enterprise’s Wildcats Stadium on Friday, September 20 for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Wildcats are 3-0 after a 44-16 win at Maud last week.

The Timpson Bears suffered their first loss of the season, to visiting Palestine-Westwood on Friday by a 63-34 score. This week Timpson has a bye. The Bears are 2-1 this season.
