Shelby County Football for Week 5

Week 5 of varsity football season saw the Tenaha Tigers break into the win column. The Tigers were the only county team to win last week.

The Center Roughriders fell in their 2025 Homecoming game to the Daingerfield Tigers by a 38-27 score. The Roughriders are now 2-2 and they will travel to Madisonville on Friday, September 26 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Mustangs Stadium. The Mustangs are 2-2 after falling at Columbus High by a 26-13 score.

The Joaquin Rams are 2-2 after suffering a 29-7 loss to Grand Saline. The Rams will travel to Corrigan-Camden on Friday, September 26 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Bulldogs Stadium. Corrigan-Camden is 2-2, they won at Elkhart last week by a 49-14 score.

The Shelbyville Dragons fell to 0-4 after falling to Mount Enterprise by a narrow 62-57 score. They will host the Carlisle Indians on Friday, September 26 at 7 p.m. in Rams Stadium. Carlisle is 2-2. They lost to Brook Hill last week by a 33-28 score.

The Tenaha Tigers are 1-3 after a 43-26 win at Linden-Kildare. The Tigers will travel to Lovelady on Friday September 26 for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Lions Stadium. LLHS is 4-0 after defeating Garrison 41-34. This game will begin District 21 2A conference play for both teams.

The Timpson Bears are 1-2 and had a bye last week. The Bears will face Wolfe City at Tyler Grace Academy on Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. Wolfe City is 1-2 and lost at Collinsville last week by a 42-14 score.
