Three of Shelby County’s five varsity football teams had bye weeks on Friday. The Timpson Bears and Tenaha each suffered losses.
The Center Roughriders are 2-3 this season and they will host the 5-0 Carthage Bulldogs at Roughriders Stadium on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Carthage won at San Benito High last Friday by a 41-3 score. This game begins the ‘Riders District 8 4A-2 conference play.
The Joaquin Rams are 3-2 and they will travel to San Augustine’s Wolves Stadium on Friday October 10 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. This starts District 11 2A-1 action for the Rams. San Augustine is 3-2 and they were on a bye week last Friday.
The Shelbyville Dragons are 1-4 and they will travel to the Garrison Bulldogs Stadium on Friday October 10 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. The Bulldogs are 5-0 after beating North Webster on Friday by a 46-7 score. This will begin District 11 2A-1 conference play for these teams.
The Tenaha Tigers are 1-5 overall and 0-2 in District 11 2A-2 after a 42-7 loss to visiting Overton High School on Saturday. The Tigers will travel to Alto on Friday, October 10 for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Yellowjackets Stadium. Alto is 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the district after losing at Grapeland 49-16 last week.
The Timpson Bears are 2-3 after falling to Wolfe City by a 34-28 score on Thursday. The Bears will travel to Hemphill on Friday, October 10 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Hornets Stadium. The Hornets are 1-4 and they also had a bye week on Friday. This game will begin District 11 2A-1 play for both teams.
