Shelby County Football This Week - Week 4

Three of Shelby County’s five teams won regular season varsity football games this week. Two county teams suffered narrow losses.

The Center Roughriders fell to the North DeSoto Gremlins by a 57-52 score. This week the 2-1 Roughriders will host the Daingerfield Tigers on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. Daingerfield now 2-1, fell at Timpson to the Bears by a 33-26 score. The Bears (3-0) will travel to Waskom for a Friday kickoff with the Wildcats, at Wildcats Stadium at 7 p.m. Waskom is 1-2 and lost at home to the Sabine Cardinals by a 38-28 score.

The Joaquin Rams fell to the Tenaha Tigers, at Tigers Stadium, by a 50-42 score. Tenaha is 3-0 this year and they will travel to Arp’s Tigers Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday, September 15. The Rams are now 0-3 this season and will next play the Shelbyville Dragons in two weeks on Friday, September 22. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Shelbyville beat the visiting Elysian Field Yellowjackets last Friday by a 32-0 score and they are 2-1 this season. Both Joaquin and Shelbyville have open-bye weeks for this Friday.
