December 19, 2016 (Photos by Linda K. Ballard/Kilgore News Herald) - Shelbyville Family surprises Gilmer City Manager Jeff Ellington at the joint Gilmer City Christmas/Retirement party held on the afternoon of December 15 at the Gilmer Civic Center. Ellington retires after twelve years with the city having over 32 years experience as city manager in the state of Texas. He was City Manager of Center during the years of 1984-1994.
His official last day is scheduled for December 30, 2016 where he looks forward to spending more time with his grandchildren in Center.
Over 100 former and current council men and women, friends, family and staff attended the party.
