October 12, 2018 - The Shelbyville Varsity Football team selected Mr. Cole Harrison as Teacher of the Week.
Teacher of the week Cole Harrison has been teaching at Shelbyville for nine years. Before becoming a teacher, he was a student at Texas A & M. He was working as a substitute for Shelbyville in 2010 and really enjoyed it, so he decided to apply for a teaching position. Aside from being a high school math teacher, Mr. Harrison is also the Academic UIL number sense coach. His hobbies include wrangling his two sons, Braxton and Evan, hunting, and fishing.His favorite sport is football and his role models are his mother and father. He says the best part about working in Shelbyville is being able to interact with his students, and hopefully being a positive influence in their lives. He wishes that his students took the ability to problem solve in his class. His advice for his students is to work hard and take pride in whatever you choose to do. Unless it is illegal. In that case don’t do it at all. He says it feels fantastic to be teacher of the week.
