May 17, 2025 - For decades, ladies of our area have quietly been making a difference in the Timpson Area. Many people may not realize these ladies meet in a nondescript building on the corner of Park and Bremond Streets to fellowship and quilt by hand. They raise funds by plying their craft, and in turn, entities such as the ambulance service benefit from these funds.
Some of the current members of this RSVP quilting group have agreed to share the history and mission of this entity with Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society at 2pm, Wednesday, May 21, in the Timpson Public Library annex. These ladies include Molly Campbell, Jeannie Rhides, and Elizabeth Goff.
TAGHS requests the public to bring quilts, whether quilted by these ladies or not, to share with our audience. We want to showcase the love and stories that quilts tell. Anyone who has quilted with this group, or has memories of ladies who have participated, are invited to attend our meeting. Call 936-615-7262 with any questions.
