April 10, 2025 - Johnnie Sue Bell Jones will speak to Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society on Wednesday, April 16, at 2PM in the Timpson Public Library annex. Her subject will be the Bowlin family and the Buena Vista area.
Mrs. Jones graduated from Tenaha school in 1961. Because she attended the first 11 grades in Timpson, she has always been considered a part of the Timpson graduating class of 1961. After earning her teaching credentials at SFA, she taught school in Gladewater and later was in administration in Tyler. Her avocation is playing the piano.
Mrs. Bell's father worked for the Forestry Service, and her Bowlin family connections are through her mother. She married a widower with two girls. She loved and raised these girls as if they were her own.
