TAGHS to Welcome Cindy Rhodes' Insights into Socio-Economic Systems

September 14, 2026 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society (TAGHS) is pleased to welcome our own Cindy Rhodes as our speaker Wednesday, September 16, at 2PM, in the Timpson Public Library Annex. Cindy will provide insights into socio-economic systems including capitalism, fascism, socialism, and communism. She will provide historical context for these frequently used, but often misunderstood terms.

Cindy was born on 1960 to Sammy and Betty Eldredge in Denison, Texas. By age eight she had developed a love for reading biographies. At this point Cindy realized her destiny was to be a teacher. She became a lifelong Timpson Bear when her father accepted the pastorate of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church. Cindy graduated from Timpson in 1978 and subsequently earned an associate of arts degree in history. She started a family and finished her degree from Stephen F Austin State University in 1990. Timpson School hired her to teach US and world history that same year. She retired in 2011 and helped raise grandchildren.

TAGHS urges the public to attend this educational and timely meeting. Homeschoolers are welcome.
