Today TAGHS Welcomes Book Author Jake Keeling as Speaker

April 19, 2023 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society (TAGHS) is pleased to welcome Jake Keeling as our speaker Wednesday, April 19th, at 2PM at Timpson Public Library annex.

Jake, the 6th generation of the Keeling family line to make his home in the Jumbo community on the Rusk/Panola line, graduated from Henderson Public schools in 2007. He graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 2011, and subsequently earned a Master of Arts in history from SFA IN 2014. Jake serves as an adjunct instructor in the history department at ETBU.

Jake has published two novels and is preparing for a third. Although they are not historical fiction, "Horseback Days and Lightning Bug Nights" and "Beyond Parmalee Bottom" strive to preserve the Christian values and customs of our rural communities in the past.

In addition to writing and teaching, Jake loves the outdoors and enjoys it through Horseback riding, working stock, and riding wagons. He is a Mason and is particularly honored to serve as a deacon at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

We welcome guests to come here this remarkable young man. Please call 936 615 7262 with any questions.
