August 19, 2025 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society is pleased to host one of our most popular speakers Wednesday, August 20, at 2pm, in the Timpson Public Library annex. Bill O'Neal will share the history of Miles City, MT, and how our Texas cattle ranches figured in it's development. In particular, the role of the XIT Ranch, granted to its owners in return for constructing our Texas capitol, will be explained by Mr. O'Neal.
A prolific author of at least 60 books and numerous papers, this popular, longtime Panola College history professor, never fails to deliver an informative and entertaining program. His credentials include 2 terms as Texas State Historian.
We invite the public to enjoy Mr. O'Neal presentation. Also, those being home schooled, are invited.
