May 30, 2019 - Tenaha High School introduces the graduating class of 2019 and announces the valedictorian and salutatorian to be Giselle Rico and Anayeli Aguilar. The commencement ceremony is May 30th at 7pm.
The valedictorian of the Class of 2019 is Giselle Rico. Giselle Rico is the daughter of Arturo and Delfina Rico. During her high school years, she participated in soccer and tennis. She is a member of the National BETA Club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Future Farmers of America her sophomore year. Because of her good grades at Panola, Giselle was inducted as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as well. She was voted president of her class for four years now and president of the BETA Club for two years. Giselle was voted duchess for two years and recently voted Miss THS. She kept an A and B Honor Roll and taken dual credit classes for two years now. After graduating High School, Giselle plans to attend Tyler Junior College to major in diagnostic medical sonography.
The salutatorian of the Class of 2019 is Anayeli Aguilar. Anayeli Aguilar is the daughter of Carmen and Mario Aguilar. Through the four years of high school, she has been a member of The National BETA Club; Junior Chamber of Commerce; Sweepstakes Award winning Marching Band member and Area Qualifier; concert band member; soccer and captain during senior year; tennis; Regional Cross Country qualifier for two years; Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member; Student Council member; and Vice President for three years. Anayeli participated in The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary essay contest and received a certification of commendation. She will graduate with 24 dual credit hours. Anayeli said, "As graduation is right around the corner, I plan to further pursue my education after I receive my diploma. I plan on attending Tyler Junior College to major in dental hygiene."
