Tenaha ISD’s First Tiger Academy A Success

November 6, 2015 - Tenaha ISD’s first Tiger Academy for parents of students in grades 6-12 was held October 27th. Parents and students had an opportunity to attend mini-seminars covering discipline, graduation, college readiness, and extracurricular participation. The Parent Academy provided a comfortable setting where Tenaha ISD administrators could present parents and students with valuable information. The small break out seminars were also successfully designed to provide parents, students and community members with the opportunity to ask questions and participate in productive conversations regarding seminar topics. Tenaha teachers were on hand to visit with parents as well.

The Senior class also hosted a Tiger Café fundraiser prior to the Tiger Academy which drew in a large crowd. The 2016 Senior Class was able to raise over $1,000.

Tenaha ISD is planning another Tiger Academy for parents of students in Grades 6-12 in January 2016. The January Tiger Academy will focus on the challenges Tenaha students face.
