Tenaha JH Band Preparing to Attend UIL Contest

March 31, 2015 - Tenaha’s 7th grade band will be attending UIL Concert & Sight-Reading on April 7th at Chapel Hill. The performance will be at 10:00 A.M. with Sight-Reading immediately following.

The students have been working very hard to prepare for this contest. They have put in their own practice time, as well as giving 110% to many clinicians that have come to help them.

This past Thursday, the band went to Pre-UIL Contest in Carthage and received a lot of positive feedback from judges.
One judge commented “Wow-impressive work with this band. Well rehearsed – you’re doing the right things just keep moving forward.” Another judge stated “Nice reading in low brass section.” referring to our sight-reading piece.

Band director Brandi Swann stated, “We still have things to fix, but with their continued hard work, I’m sure they will be successful for UIL. If you are able to, please come show your support for the continued growth of our future Roarin’ Band from Tigerland.”
