Friday saw the Tenaha Lady Tigers and Tigers high school basketball teams head east for District 23 2A conference games. In varsity action, the Tenaha Lady Tigers beat the Lady Rams by a 53-34 score, and the boy’s action saw the Tigers take a lopsided win by a 91-31 final score.
`Leading scorers for Joaquin in the girl’s game was Kailee Clark and Sevana Stotts who each had nine points. For Tenaha Kaedynce Cox had 23 points and Arianna Dagley had 11.
Boys action saw Trenton Runnels lead the Rams with 11 points. Tenaha was led by Avanta Fredieu with 18. Seth Stokes and Kamarrion Ross had 15. Brikelian Kenney and Darrien Menefee had 14, and Tray Tutt scored 12 points.
The Lady Rams and Rams will regroup and head to Timpson for more District 23 action at Bears Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Sub-varsity action starts at 4:30 p.m. with varsity action to follow.
Tenaha will host the Waskom Lady Wildcats and Wildcats at the Tenaha SEC on Tuesday, January 21. JV starts at 4:30 p.m. and varsity will follow.
