Tigers Fall to Guard 22-12

The Tenaha Tigers Varsity Football team fell to 2-1 on the season after a 22-12 home loss to the Brook Hill Guard. Tenaha scored first when Jeremy Patton pulled down a pass from Trindon Claiborne and raced to the endzone for a 44-yard touchdown which gave THS the lead with 3:12 minutes left in the opening quarter. The extra point kick attempt was blocked so the Tigers led 6-0.

Guardsman Jack Jordan scored at the beginning of the second quarter on a 51-yard touchdown reception which tied the game at 6-6. Dorian Reyes ran in a 2 point conversion run which gave Brook Hill a 8-6 advantage with 11:43 left in the third stanza.

Brook Hill recovered a fumble moments later and wasted no time extending their lead when Jay'lon Warren scored on a 14-yard scoring reception with 9:30 left in the first half. An extra point kick conversion gave BHHS a 15-6 lead which held up until halftime.

The Guard extended their advantage to 22-6 when Nick LaRocca scored on a 31-yard touchdown run with 7:40 remaining in the third quarter.

The Tigers made the final score of the contest when Trindon Claiborne hit Kamarion Ross for a 13-yard touchdown reception with 6:30 left in the game.

Tenaha is 2-1 this season and they will travel to Tyler Grace High School on Friday, September 17, 2021 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Cougars Stadium. The Cougars are 0-3 this year and lost to Covenant Christian Academy by a 48-6 score on Friday.
