July 19, 2021 - Fannie Watson, longtime Shelby County educator, will speak to Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society and guests about the historic Shelby County Courthouse at the society's July meeting. She will share information about.the preservation of this landmark located on the Center square. Mrs. Watson will also tell about the project one of her classes did concerning the courthouse. She will bring a copy of a book that has been printed about this Irish building.
Please join us Wednesday, July 21, in the annex at the rear of Timpson Public Library. The meeting convenes at 2 PM.
Mrs. Watson, modestly, wishes only to be introduced with information about her career in education. She taught in Timpson from 1952 to 1955. She took a break of 2 years to be a stay at home mother. Mrs. Watson returned to teaching in 1957 at Center, where she concluded her career in 2004. Many people will remember her husband, Dock Watson, served as Shelby County Judge
