Gary Bobcats Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 –
Timpson’s Lady Bears and their Bears varsity basketball teams each took wins at Gary Bobcats Gymnasium on Tuesday. The Lady Bears came away with a 50-15 win and the Bears beat the Bobcats by a 69-41 score.
The Lady Bears led 4-1 midway through the first period and they led 16-1 at the end of the first quarter. At halftime they held a 34-5 lead. They held a 45-15 advantage at the conclusion of the third stanza and coasted on to the 50-15 final score win. Timpson was led by D’Chelle Garner with 14 points. The Lady Bears are now 25-8 for the season and 9-1 in District 23 2A. They have two conference games remaining in regular season play and they will host Shelbyville on Friday, February 3, 2023. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
The Bears Never trailed the Bobcats on Friday. They led Gary 6-2 midway through the first period and led 20-8 at the end of the first quarter. THS held a 36-25 lead at the midway point and 60-25 at the conclusion of the third stanza. The Bears were led by Jackson Campbell with 21 points and JJ Garner with 12. The Bobcats were led by led by Thomas Flowers with 20 points. The 69-41 win puts Timpson at 15-3 for the season and 8-1 in District 23 2A. They will host the Shelbyville Dragons at Bears Gymnasium on February 3, 2023 and the two teams will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
