Cross Country Team News - The Timpson Varsity and JH Cross Country teams competed this past week in West Sabine. The Varsity runners are Sara Duke, Macey Jo Hanson, Cheyanne Porter, Ana DeLeon, Cedesha Curtis, Emily Garcia, and Molly Sanford. They ran very well and all members of the team finished in the top 50! They will compete at the district meet Wednesday October 14th in New Summerfield at 10:30am.
The JH Cross Country Team consists of Harlea Ware, Erica Renick, Ashton Harris, McKenzie Wynn, Alexis Miller, Sadie Ramsey, and Jaycee Campbell. They also competed in the West Sabine CC Meet and placed second as team. Sadie Ramsey won the meet as the first place individual and Harlea Ware, Jaycee Campbell, and Ashton Harris all medaled as individuals. They will compete at the District Cross Country Meet in New Summerfield on October 14th at 3:30pm. The Boys JH race will begin 3:00pm.
THS Floral Design Class - Several Timpson High School FFA members in Ty Cauthen's floral design class prepared homecoming mums for students in the Timpson Elementary. These students were either making their own personal mums, or their families were purchasing their own. The students did not want the ones created in the Floral Design Class to just be graded and discarded.. they wanted them to find a good home! They prepared their mums for students in the Elementary that were unable to purchase Homecoming Mums and who needed just a little help with the Bear Spirit!! Mr. Cauthen said," So Proud to see these young people step up to show that this is a community of people, not just a town!'' They are living out the FFA creed that states: " I can exert and influence in my home and community which will stand solid for my part in that inspiring task." GO BEARS!
TISD Yearbook - Friday, October 16 is the last day to purchase a Timpson ISD 2015-16 yearbook at the introductory price of $40.00. The next offer will be for $45.00.
