Timpson High School Band Earns First Divisions at UIL Marching Contest

October 21, 2019 - On Saturday, October 19 the Timpson High School Band earned first division ratings at the UIL Region 21 Marching Contest held at Homer Bryce Stadium at SFA.  

Some of the judges’ comments from Saturday’s contest are:
“Great opening fanfare.”
“Nice balanced sounds!”
“Band marches well.”
“Nice Drill.” 
“Overall, very good.” 
“Sharp!”
“Keep up the good work, and thanks for your performance!”

This year is not an “advancing year” for class 2A, so the band’s next performance will be at N.A.M.M.B. (National Association of Military Marching Bands) on Saturday, November 2 at SFA in Nacogdoches.

The band has ten seniors this year: Ashlynn Lindgren-flute and drum major, Sanna Curtis-clarinet, Brittany Hutto-saxophone, Bradley Young-trumpet, Kayleigh Wolf-trumpet, Julieta De Leon-trumpet, Fransisco Flores-trombone, Corey Branton-baritone, Chris Lewis-baritone, Fabian Martinez-tuba. The band is directed by Deshmond Johnson and James Trammell.
