Track Meet Time Change – As voted on by the district committee, due to the weather forecast for Thursday, the JH district meet is being moved up to Wednesday, April 3rd. The meet will begin at 3:30 p.m.
FFA News – Timpson FFA has had a very exciting and successful past few days! On Wednesday, March 27th our judging teams competed at Stephen F. Austin where we had six teams compete: Poultry, Livestock, Horse, Forestry, Forages, and Jr. Livestock. The poultry judging team consisted of: Celine Bush, Bethany Bridges, Emmalee Richardson, and Landen Dunavant- Celine Bush was high point individual for our district and the team was ranked 2nd in our district. The Livestock Judging team was made up of: April Ramsey, Jarrett Page, and Colton Gutermuth the team placed 3rd for our district. The Horse Judging team was made up of Logan Yates, Layci Jo Sample, Hope Milford, and Trey Box- the team placed 2nd in our district. Competing in Forages was Gabe Smith, Chelsea Hall, and Hunter Sample. Erica Renick also competed in Forestry. Our Livestock, Horse, Poultry, Nursery Landscape, Forages, and Forestry teams will be competing at 2019 AREA Contest on April 16th at Sam Houston State University.
The Timpson FFA Show team finished out the Texas Major Show Season at Rodeo Austin this past week. Baylor Kimbro made history for the Timpson FFA by becoming the first person to make the sale at Rodeo Austin with his county bred steer. Cale Cornelious had a 1st and 2nd place in her heifer classes and was later name Reserve Calf Champion, Ally Kimbro placed 2nd and 3rd in her classes, Mayson Harbison had a 2nd and 5th in his classes, Brecken Kimbro placed 2nd and 11th in his heifer classes, April Ramsey had a 3rd and a 6th place in her classes, Baylor Kimbro also competed in the heifer show and had a 2nd and 3rd place and was later named Reserve Champion Junior Heifer. All six of these students will be showing at the National Show this summer.
Pre-Kindergarten Round Up Information – PK-Kindergarten Round Up is April 24, 2019 from 9am until 2pm at Timpson Elementary School.
- Students must be 4 years old by September 1, 2019 to attend PK
- Students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2019 to attend Kindergarten.
Parents or legal guardians must register students.
We must have the documents listed before registering your child/children.
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Shot Record
- Proof of Income (2018 tax return/W-2)
- Proof of Residency (lease agreement, current utility bill such as electric/water with residents name and address listed) PO Box are not acceptable
- Parent/Guardian driver license
Current PK students will not need to register for Kindergarten. Please notify either Mrs. Penny or Mrs. Burgay if your child will be returning for Kindergarten.
