
December 5, 2025 - Timpson ISD is excited to welcome Dr. Terry Everitt to TISD as the new Superintendent of Schools!
Dr. Everitt was named the lone finalist for superintendent at the November Board of Trustees meeting, and was officially appointed tonight.
Dr. Everitt has 29 years of experience in education, with 17 years being in administration.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, his master’s degree at Texas A&M Texarkana, and his Doctorate of Education at Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Everitt taught and coached at Jacksonville ISD, Bullard ISD, and Henderson ISD. He held assistant principal positions at Kilgore ISD and Henderson ISD until 2012. He then served as the high school principal at Henderson ISD from 2012-2020. Beginning in 2020, Dr. Everitt served as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction at Henderson ISD until 2024. Most recently, he has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Henderson ISD.
“I am honored and excited to be named the Superintendent of Timpson ISD,” Dr. Everitt said.
“Timpson is a special place with a rich tradition, deep community pride, and a strong commitment to excellence. I am grateful for the confidence and trust the Board of Trustees has placed in me, and I look forward to earning that trust every day.”
Dr. Everitt has been married to his wife Kristy, a CPA, for 28 years. They have 2 children, Collin (24) and Abbey (20). Dr. Everitt will begin with Timpson ISD at the start of the new semester in January.
“I cannot wait to get started,” Dr. Everitt said. “Over the coming weeks, I look forward to developing relationships with students, staff, families, and community members, and to learning more about the great things already happening in Timpson ISD. Together, we will continue to build on the strengths of this district and create even more opportunities for our students. It’s a great day to be a Bear!”
