To Our Timpson Smyrna Cemetery Family:
Our Cemetery reflects the history of our community. How it is maintained says much about how we honor our deceased.
We are proud how we have improved the cemetery within the last few years. Last year, we had an influx of rocks / bricks / fencing / etc. around graves. This may be a nice gesture for your love ones but it has caused some issues particular with our mowing services. The committee has voted to remove all rocks and bricks from around graves effective March 1, 2024. Only concrete slabs or vaults will be acceptable.
A motion also passed effective March 1, 2024 in order to avoid the $600 burial fee. The annual $50 must be paid and recorded six months in advanced. Anyone who has not paid the annual $50 will need to pay $600 before your loved ones are allowed to be buried in the cemetery. This $50 covers your immediate family: husband, wife, and children under 17 years old. The same for Single Mothers or Single Dads with children, dues cover your household, that includes you and your children under 17 years old. Any children or other individuals in the household older than 17 years old must pay the annual fee of $50.
