TPWD to Conduct Antlerless Deer Permit Selections for National Forests in Texas

August 31, 2016 - Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will conduct Antlerless Deer permit applications and selections through an on-line application process for the National Forests in Texas.

Applications can be made at  www.tpwd.texas.gov/drawnhunts. They are no longer accepted by mail or email.

TPWD inventories deer populations in national forests and adjacent lands and uses the antlerless deer hunts to balance populations. The number of permits issued varies from year to year and the number of requests usually exceeds the number of permits available.

Hunting antlerless deer in the National Forests in Texas is conducted only within Wildlife Management Areas and only by permit.
