TxDOT Update on Projects in Shelby County, Other Areas

June 22, 2015 - LUFKIN – The bridge/overpass at FM 2021 at Redland over US 59 is scheduled to open to traffic this week once paving is completed, weather permitting.

The $18.7 million project successfully completes the overpass/underpass that began in November 2013. While Webber, LLC, contractor for the project, continues to work to complete concrete pavement construction and finishing touches on the Redland project, motorists will be able to traverse across FM 2021 and above US 59 safely and efficiently from East to West on FM 2021 once both sides are opened to traffic.

“With the last of the paving being done this week, this project is nearing completion,” said Rhonda Oaks, public information officer. “It is exciting to see this beautiful new overpass open and provide motorists with a seamless way to cross US 59.
