April 8, 2019 - A special called meeting of the Board of Trustees of Center Independent School District (CISD) was held on Friday, April 5, 2019, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Center Intermediate School District located at 624 Malone Drive in Center, Texas 75935.
1. Call Meeting to Order and Establish a Quorum - Matthew Mettauer called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. and declared a quorum. Present were John Henry Holloway; Allison Johnson; Daphne LaRock; Casey Lout; Matthew Mettauer; Traci Willoughby; Deuce Wulf; Betty McDaniel, Director of Finance and James Hockenberry, Superintendent. None were absent. Visitors were Mike Brister; Mike Elswick, Light and Champion; Matt Gregory, CHS Principal; Holly Mikesh, Human Resources Director; Mike Cochran, E3 and Teresa Richard, RTI Director.
2. Review, Discussion, and Consideration of TASB Pay Systems Review and Compensation for the 2019-2020 School Year - Dr. Hockenberry presented information relative to compensation for 2019-2020 school year including market adjustments and general pay increases to the teacher pay scale and market adjustments for auxiliary and professional staff as recommended by the TASB pay systems review. Furthermore, Superintendent Hockenberry presented information on providing teachers stipends who teach in STAAR tested classrooms. Allison Johnson made a motion, seconded by Casey Lout, to approve 2019-2020 compensation recommendations as presented by Superintendent Hockenberry. The motion carried 7-0.
3. Consideration to Approve CHS HVAC Project - Mike Cochran, E3, provided detailed information about the CHC HVAC redesign project as part of the bond program. Work will commence this summer. Deuce Wulf made a motion, seconded by John Henry Holloway, to approve Package A of the CHS HVAC redesign and table alternates B and C until the next meeting on April 18, 2019. The motion carried 7-0.
4. Closed Session - The Board did not enter into Closed Session.
5. Open Session
5.1 District Employees and Officers: Texas Government Code §551.071, §551.074 and §551.129 for consideration of employment of contracted personnel and extended emergency sick leave.
5.1.2 Employment of Personnel - Traci Willoughby made a motion, seconded by Daphne LaRock to approve the employment of the contracted personnel as recommended by Superintendent Hockenberry.

The motion carried 7-0.
5.1.3 Extended Emergency Sick Leave - A motion was made by Traci Willoughby, seconded by Daphne LaRock to approve the extended emergency sick leave.

The motion carried 7-0.
5.2 Real Property: Texas Government Code §551.071, §551.072 and §551.129 - There was no action taken regarding the real property.
6. Adjournment - John Henry Holloway made a motion, seconded by Traci Willoughby, to adjourn the meeting at 12:27 p.m. The motion carried 7-0.
