March 14, 2023 - Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary Texas District 19 will host its first ever Family Freedom Festival on April 29, 2023 from 9 am to 2 pm at VFW Post 1836 in Lufkin, Texas at 1800 Ford Chapel Rd. This [free] family-friendly event will feature food, music, games and more! It’s a festival to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and will include activities and entertainment for all ages. Attend this event and learn about what the VFW Auxiliary does and what we can offer you. We will all the auxiliaries and post from our entire district at this festival.
• Discover educational scholarships we offer and support and learn how to apply.
• Meet and learn about service dogs for our veterans.
• See U.S. Flags and find out what the each of the 13 folds of the Flag mean.
• Talk with hospital volunteers and hear why they love to volunteer and bring smiles to the faces of hospitalized veterans in our community and how you can join them.
• Learn how you can take steps to change mental health in America. Learn the Five Signs of emotional suffering, obtain information about the Veterans Crisis Line and the VFW National Home for Children’s Military & Veteran Family Helpline.
• We will have representatives there from Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Jacksonville, Trinity, Henderson, Livingston, Center, Palestine and Hemphill.
• There will be booths covering cancer, the National Home for Children and much more.
