VFW Post 8904 Honor Pearl Harbor Survivor, Earl Wood

Back row l-r, Post Quartermaster Larry Hume, Post Chaplain Gene Hutto, Auxiliary Chaplain Mary Fausett and Auxiliary Sr. Vice Sandy Risinger.December 9, 2014 - Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Ladies Auxiliary joined with family and members of Central Baptist Church on Sunday, December 7th, 2014 to honor Pearl Harbor Survivor, Mr. Earl O. Wood. Mr. Wood was born in Wisconsin and joined the US Army from Missoula, Montana in July 1940 and served with the Coastal Artillery Corps. He was at Hickam Field, Hawaii on December 7th, 1941 and served to the end of WW II. He now lives in Center with his wife and is one of two known from Shelby County still living to have survived the attack.
