VFW Seeks to Honor Eligible Gold Star Banner Recipients

April 7, 2019 - The “Gold Star Banner” or service flag honors a family that has had a service member die during a period of war or hostilities. The Gold Star represents “sacrifice to the cause of liberty and freedom.”

Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary would like to recognize families who have lost a loved one during a time of war or hostilities with a Gold Star Banner at our annual Memorial Day program to be held Monday, May 27, 2019, 11am at the 1885 Historic Courthouse.

Please contact Post Quartermaster Larry Hume at 936-598-2976 or email chief@chiefimaging.com to identify the lost veteran and family member(s) who will be attending to accept the banner.
