Visiting Garrison Takes District 23 Baseball Win at Timpson

The visiting Garrison Bulldogs varsity baseball team improved their District 23 2A conference record to 7-0 with a 6-0 run win over the Timpson Bears. The Bulldogs are now 15-6-2 overall this season. Timpson is 12-7 overall and 2-7 in District 23 play.

Garrison rallied in the top of the second inning and loaded the bases. A single by Jack Richardson drove in Stryker Lloyd and Briley Montgomery which gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. GHS improved their lead to 3-0 when Brayden Davidson homered over the leftfield fence in the third frame. The Bulldogs lead improved to 4-0 in the top of the fourth frame when JT Regan scored on a double by Travis Burkhalter.

Garrison added runs by Davidson and Jaxon Winder in the top of the final inning and Dallas McFadden was able to strike out the first three Bears batters in the bottom of the seventh to close the game out and seal the win. McFadden had 10 strikeouts in the complete game win and he walked no batters while giving up just six hits.

Colton Carroll gave up three hits and walked three for the Bears. Mason Quist struck out four Bulldogs, he gave up three hits and walked three. Teammate Seth Duke struck out one Bulldog, walked one and gave up 2 hits.

Timpson will travel to Garrison on Friday, April 5 for a 6 p.m. conference game at Bulldogs Ballpark.
