This Week’s Shelby County Football

All five Shelby County varsity football teams came away with wins last week.

The Center Roughriders beat the visiting Shepherd Pirates by a 56-6 score to move their District 10 4A mark to 1-1. Their overall record now stands at 5-2. They will travel to Madisonville this Friday, October 23, 2020, for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the 3-4 Bulldogs. They are 1-1 in conference action as well.

The Joaquin Rams beat visiting West Hardin High School by a 46-0 margin. The Rams are now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in District 10 2A-1 action. They will now travel to face county rivals, the Shelbyville Dragons, on Friday, at 7:30 p.m., at Dragons Stadium. The Dragons beat Garrison at Bulldogs Stadium last Thursday by a 33-14 score. SHS is now 1-1 in conference action and 2-3 overall for the season.

The Tenaha Tigers travelled to Mount Enterprise last week and defeated the Wildcats by a 49-0 margin. The Tigers are 4-0 in District 11 2A-2 action and they are 5-2 overall this season. This week they will host the Cushing Bearkats who are 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They beat the visiting Overton Mustangs last week by a 53-0 score. Kick off is this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Raymond Jackson Stadium.

The Timpson Bears beat the visiting San Augustine Wolves last week by a 56-14 score. Timpson is 8-0 overall and 3-0 in District 10 2A-1 action. The Bears will head to West Hardin on Friday to face the 1-5 (0-2) Oilers. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
