This Week’s Shelby County Football Week 6

Three of Shelby County's Five varsity football teams will play games this week. Last week all but Timpson played.

This Friday will see the Center Roughriders on a bye week. The extra week should help the 'Riders prepare for District 10 4AII play. They will face the defending state champion Carthage Bulldogs at home on October 8. Center is now 0-5 after falling to Van High 52-35 last week. Carthage is 3-0 and they are currently on a 16-game winning streak which dates back to last year's season opener which they lost in double overtime to Kilgore.

The Joaquin Rams are 3-2 after defeating the Clarksville Tigers on the road by a 55-18 score last week. Joaquin has a bye this week. They will host the San Augustine Wolves on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. The Wolves are 1-4 and fell on the road to Alto by a 47-20 score last week.

The Shelbyville Dragons are 3-2 after beating the visiting Trinity Christian Eagles for a 20-14 Homecoming victory last Friday. They will travel to Marshall Maverick's Stadium on Thursday, September 30, 2021 for a 7 p.m. kickoff with the Detroit Eagles. Detroit is 1-3 and forfeited to Leonard High School last week.

The Tenaha Tigers will be playing their 2021 Homecoming game on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. Last week the Tigers defeated the Lovelady Lions, at Lovelady, by a 41-6 margin. THS is now 3-2. They will be hosting the 4-0 Colmesneil Bulldogs. Each team has a 1-0 District 11 2A record. The Bulldogs beat Overton 32-0 last week.

The Timpson Bears game with James Bowie High School was cancelled last week. The Bears, 3-0, were originally scheduled for a bye week this Friday. Instead THS will be hosting the Booneville Arkansas Bearcats (4-0). Kickoff will be at Timpson Bears Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 1.
