This Week in Shelby County Football: Week 10

Three five Shelby County’s varsity football teams took losses this past week.

The Center Roughriders are now 5-3 overall. They have a 2-2 record in District 8 4A-2 conference action. They fell at Carthage to the Bulldogs by a 64-28 score. This week the ‘Riders host Bullard on Thursday, October 27, 2022 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Roughriders Stadium. The Bullard Panthers (3-4, 2-1) fell to visiting Rusk by a 47-35 score.

The Joaquin Rams is now 4-1 in District 11 2A-1 action this season. The Rams fell at home to the Timpson Bears by a 25-22 score. The Rams are 6-2 overall. They will travel to West Sabine on Thursday October 27, 2022 for a 7 p.m. kickoff with the 3-5 Tigers. WSHS had a bye last Friday. They are 2-2 in District 11 action. Timpson is 8-0 overall and 4-0 in District 11 2A-1. They will host the 5-3, 2-2 Shelbyville Dragons at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 27. The Dragons took a 59-46 home win over the winless San Augustine Wolves last week.

The Tenaha Tigers are now 3-5. They are 1-2 in District 11 2A-2 play. The Tigers lost by a 23-20 score to the Cushing Bearkats on Friday. This week they will host the Mount Enterprise Wildcats with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday, October 21 at Raymond Jackson Stadium. The Wildcats are 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
