Whitlee Reed Places 2nd at Texas State FFA High School Rodeo Finals

July 17, 2015 - On Saturday Center FFA member Whitlee Reed traveled to Sinton, TX to compete in Barrel Racing at the Texas State FFA High School Rodeo finals. 72 finalists from across the state competed in 3 rounds of competition.

Barrel racing is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider attempt to compete a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest/lowest time. After each round the competitors scores are added together and the lowest score wins the competition.

After these three rounds, Whitlee placed 2nd in the entire state of Texas, only missing first place by FOUR TENTHS OF A SECOND!!! Congrats to Whitlee on this AMAZING accomplishment!!!
