Windham Represents Timpson in the All-State Band

March 3, 2022 - Jayden Windham, a junior member of the Award-Winning Timpson High School Band, participated in the Texas Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) All-State Band in San Antonio as part of the 2022 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention. This is Jayden’s second time being chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held across the state at Region and Area levels.

All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. 1,875 students are selected through a process that began with over 70,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles. Individual musicians perform selected music for a panel of judges who rank each instrument or voice part. From this ranking, a select group of musicians advances from their Region to compete against musicians from other areas. The highest-ranking musicians judged at the ATSSB Area competitions qualify to perform in an All-State music group. Only the top 2.6% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians.

Windham plays Tuba in the band at Timpson under the direction of Deshmond Johnson and James Trammell. He is the son of Michael and Sarah Windham. His grandparents are Eileen Randall; Tim and Sabrina Randall; and David and Rebecca Windham.
