January 27, 2020 - The San Augustine District (San Augustine, Shelby, and Sabine Counties) of the Texas A&M Forest Service is having a seedling giveaway this Friday, January 31 from 9am - 12-noon at the District Office!

November 18, 2019 - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Whizbang finals were held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio on October 26. To qualified for the finals a 4H shooter must participate in a minimum of six county shoots throughout the 2018-2019 4H calendar year.
November 12, 2019 – November is National Diabetes Month; and this year the National Institutes for Health (NIH) is highlighting the link between diabetes and heart disease.
According the NIH “When blood sugar is high and moving through blood vessels, the vessels and nerves that control the heart can be damaged, causing heart disease”.
October 30, 2019 - You are invited to attend the Texas Extension Education Association Women on the Go Club, Thursday, November 7, 2019 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Extension office, located at 266 Nacogdoches Street in Center. Come out, bring a friend, and enjoy this learning experience.
October 9, 2019 - The Shelby County 4H Livestock Junior teams stepped out for their first competition this 2019-2020 season at The State Fair in Dallas, TX this week. Coach, Blake Gamble, took two teams comprised of Cale Cornelius, Hannah Wages, Tucker Gamble, Camille Greer, Allison Gamble, and Carter Greer. The teams fared well among the competition, ranking 15th and 29th overall. The two high point individuals, Cale Cornelius and Camille Greer, placed 12th and 24th respectively. It was a great start, and we’re looking forward to continued success.
September 30, 2019 - Plans for the 2019 Shelby County Broiler Show & Sale are set. The sift will start at 9am, Saturday, October 5th. The show will start around 11am. Both the sift and show will be in Raymond Motor Company’s Pavilion. The judge for the show will be Jacob Coppage.
