October 10, 2018 - It’s October, which means that Halloween is lurking just around the corner… which also means that it’s time to talk about safety! We’re not just referring to the kind of safety that keeps you from buying and eating an entire bag of mini Snickers before October 3 or the kind of safety that we tend to talk about when Halloween rolls around.

CACTX Announces FY 2019 Board Officers, New Board Members

September 19, 2018 - The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. (CACTX) is excited to begin FY 2019 with a new slate of board executive officers. James Kimbell (Houston- Clark Hill Strasburger) will serve as the incoming CACTX President, joined by President-Elect Gina DeBottis Metts (Houston- Retired, Special Prosecution Unit), Vice President Revlynn Lawson (Austin- Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP), Secretary Billy Millwee (Dripping Springs- Sellers Dorsey), and Treasurer Blaine Brunson (Austin- Morgan Stanley).

Kids Aren’t the Only Ones Who Want to “Catch ‘Em All.”

July 25, 2016 - Technology is improving the world at a rapid pace, but even the most helpful technology can become a problem in the wrong hands. For example, the evolution of the Internet has made it easier to stay in touch through social media and research school projects, while smartphones have made it easy to capture life’s special moments with a candid photo. However, this same technology may also be making children more vulnerable.
