September 20, 2016 - When the 2016 fall semester began in August at Panola College, the largest class of Medical Assistant students to date was admitted to begin their education. The Medical Assisting (MA) program began in the fall of 2012 with eleven associate degree students and nine certificate students. The program has since grown to 94 students, more than a 400% increase. According to the Department of Labor, “the employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 23% between 2014 and 2024.”
September 20, 2016 - That Panola College men's and women's basketball team will be hosting their first annual Fall Coaches Clinic.The clinic will take place this upcoming Saturday, September 24th and will run from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
September 19, 2016 - The 7th ranked Panola College Fillies continued their winning ways, going undefeated this weekend and taking home three tournament superlatives at the Lee College Invitational. Ana Oliviera was named tournament Most Valuable Player, while Rachel Henderson and Cayman Sutton were named to the All-Tournament team.
September 16, 2016 - Panola College will be offering a Basketball Coaching Clinic headlined by Jamie Dixon, basketball coach for TCU. The clinic will take place on September 24, 2016 from 9am to 2pm in the Arthur Johnson Gymnasium at Panola College. The clinic will feature six college basketball coaches with a combined total of over 1,500 wins. All coaches will walk through demonstrations of offense and defense. September 16, 2016 - On Wednesday, September 14th, the 2016-2017 Panola College Foundation Board gathered in the Frances B. Ross Ballroom to conduct a quarterly business meeting and welcome six new members. The Panola College Foundation was formed to support and promote the mission and vision of Panola College, to seek and obtain gifts for the advancement of Panola College, and to assist the students of Panola College by providing fellowships and scholarships.
September 15, 2016 - Panola College is hosting the first rodeo of the year for the NIRA Southern Region on September 23-24. The rodeo will be held at the Panola County Cattleman’s Arena on Hwy 79 North. Performance times are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 pm, With the slack each day at noon. Tickets will be available at the gate at $5 a head. Kids 10 and under free when accompanied by an adult.
September 15, 2016 - In from of a packed crowd the 7th ranked Panola College Fillies took down #15 Tyler Junior College in straight sets, (25-19, 25-17, 25-10).
September 15, 2016 - Panola College and Portacool, LLC have teamed up to offer current Portacool employees the opportunity to improve their skills thanks to a Skills Development Fund grant. The $72,670 state grant is funded by the Texas Workforce Commission, and will allow workers to increase their skill level and an opportunity to further their career. The Skills Development Fund is the primary job-training program used by the Texas Workforce Commission to provide local and customized training for Texas businesses.
September 12, 2016 - The Panola College Fillies picked up another win Friday with a sweep over host Temple College (25-22, 25-16, 25-21) to move to 9-2 overall on the season.
