August 8, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Staff invite the public to join them at a New Member Ribbon Cutting for J’s Bar and Grill on Thursday, August 24th at 11:00am. J’s Bar and Grill is located at 1510 Southview Circle in Center.
Ashley and Jeremy Snider, owners of J’s Bar and Grill opened the doors in March of this year. Prior to the opening of J’s Bar and Grill, we followed them around town in their food truck, J’s Custom Eats, for delicious fish tacos.
May 12, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Staff invite the public, and fur babies to join them at a New Member Ribbon Cutting for Happy Tails on Saturday, May 13th at 10am, on the downtown square. The Ribbon Cutting will kick off the Bark-A-Rama which be held from 10am – 12noon.

May 3, 2019 - Sometimes first aid is not a bandage, or CPR or calling 911. Sometimes first aid is YOU. A person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Be prepared to help.
St. John’s Episcopal Church in Center is hosting a Mental Health First Aid class on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 8:30am until 5:00pm.
June 21, 2018 - The Community is invited to join the congregation at St. John's Episcopal Church for a special worship and brunch on Sunday, July 1 at 9am. The Bishop of Texas, Andrew Doyle will be leading the service. Andrew Doyle, is the ninth Bishop of Texas. Bishop Doyle received his Masters of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary after receiving a fine arts degree from the University of North Texas. He is an avid reader and fly fisherman.
February 13, 2018 - The congregation at St. John's Episcopal Church is hosting the Annual Pancake Supper on Tuesday, February 13th from 5pm to 7pm at the Parish Hall behind the church on Highway 96 South.
They will be serving pancakes, sausage and other delicious treats. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy!
September 20, 2016 - The Center Woman’s Reading Club is back in full swing after a summer break. The ladies met on September 15th at the home of Mrs. Barbara Prince. President Janene Walker presided.
September 19, 2016 - Mary Helen Brown will be in Center on Thursday, October 6th for a review and signing of her book, Heading For Home. The event will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 2:00pm and is hosted by the Center Woman’s Reading Club. Everyone is invited to attend.
