September 14, 2023 - Grants from the John Harris Community Fund held at East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) in Tyler, Texas, were awarded to Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc., Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center, Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library, Shelby County Historical Commission and East Texas Food Bank.
January 26, 2023 - East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for eighty-eight scholarships to be awarded for the 2023-2024 academic year. The deadline for submission of the online application is March 1, 2023. April 12, 2022 - One week into early giving, East Texas Giving Day has generated over $50,000 in donations for participating nonprofits through the website, www.EastTexasGivingDay.org. Officially slated for Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 6:00 a.m. to midnight, East Texas Giving Day is on target to be another record-breaking event.
April 13, 2021 - One week into early giving, East Texas Giving Day has generated close to $70,000 in donations and 350 pledged volunteer hours for participating nonprofits through the website, www.EastTexasGivingDay.org.
March 8, 2021 - Nonprofit registration for the sixth annual East Texas Giving Day concludes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Nonprofits based in or serving one of the 32-counties in the East Texas Communities Foundation service area are encouraged to register to be a part of the online fundraising event.
August 30, 2019 - Grants from the John Harris Community Fund held at East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) in Tyler, Texas were awarded to the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial library, Grace Manor, Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center and the City of Center.
Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center received funds to purchase forensic interview equipment in order to better preserve evidence as part of an investigation for victims of suspected abuse.
July 17, 2019 - The John Harris Community Fund held at East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) in Tyler, Texas will be accepting grant applications now through 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2019.
May 20, 2019 - East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) awarded $241,050 in scholarships to high school and college students from East Texas for the 2019-20 school years. Recipients were honored at a reception at The Tyler Civic Theater on Monday, May 20th. Scholarship amounts range from $450-$5,000 per student originating from 68 different scholarship funds at ETCF.
