January 23, 2024 - Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will have a Political Rally Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Joaquin School Cafeteria.
We will start selling Hamburgers, chips and a drink at 6pm followed by the Rally starting at 7pm. Each Candidate will get time to speak and then raffle off a dessert.
June 28, 2022 - The City limits of Joaquin is under a Burn Ban until further notice. Due to drought and other weather related conditions, Jeremy Boyett, Fire Chief/Fire Marshal, asks everyone to refrain from any outdoor burning. You are still allowed to cook outside and pop fireworks.

May 2, 2017 - The Joaquin Farmers Market starts Saturday, May 6 in Downtown Joaquin from 8am to 12 Noon. The market will be every Saturday from May till August. Come out and support local farmers.
September 25, 2016 - The 50-Mile Trail Of Treasures will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from Stonewall, Louisiana to Joaquin, Texas. The route will be from I49 down Stonewall Frierson to Hwy 171 to Mansfield and turn on Hwy 84 to Joaquin, Texas. Come be a part of the 2016 Fifty-Mile Trail of Treasures in DeSoto Parish and Eastern Shelby County!
