October 19, 2021 - The Shelbyville Lady Dragon Volleyball team is currently 5-2 in District play and has an overall record of 22-12 for the season. In October the Lady Dragons have had three wins and two losses.
The Dragons traveled to San Augustine and defeated the wolves in three strong sets on October 1. In the first set Dragons won 25 to 18, second set 25 to 20, and ended the match up in the third set 25-10.
October 4, 2021 - In their District Opener on Friday, September 24th, the Shelbyville Dragons tamed the Gary Bobcats in three sets. Shelbyville won 25-18, 25-13, and 25-23.
Kate Lawson had 25 assists and 9 digs. Kiana Bennett had 15 kills, 8 digs, 2 blocks, and 4 aces. Ma’Kayja Horton had 7 kills, 8 digs, and 4 aces. Cadience Thompson had 5 kills and 10 digs.
September 22, 2021 - The Shelbyville Lady Dragon volleyball team dominated the Waskom Lady Wildcats in their September 17, 2021, matchup.
The Lady Dragons took the first set by a relatively close margin 25-21 and had an even more defining win on the second set, taking that one 25-13. The Lady Wildcats clawed their way back but got their paws scorched as the Lady Dragons completed their third set win 25-17.
September 15, 2021 - Shelbyville's Lady Dragon volleyball team won against Leverett's Chapel in four sets in an away game on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
Shelbyville fell short on the first set 19-25 but came back with a strong won on the second set 25-8. Once the Dragons got the win on the second set they continued to dominate by winning the third 25-14 and fourth 25-16 for the overall victory.
September 8, 2021 - Shelbyville's Lady Dragon volleyball team had a decisive victory over Hemphill in three sets at home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Shelbyville won the first set 25-6, second set 25-3, and the final set 25-11 ending the need for more play.
Player statistics include Makayja Horton with 9 kills, 5 digs, and 7 aces; Kiana Bennett had 7 kills and 4 digs; and Kate Lawson had 25 assists and 2 digs.
