November 2, 2026 - Shelby County Elections Administor Nancy Adams shares information on understanding your voter's registration card and how to know which voting precinct you are located.

"I have recently spoken with a few voters who don't understand where they are supposed to vote for the November 3 General Election," shared Adams. "One of the voters I spoke with thought she was in precinct 2 because her commissioner, justice of the peace and constable are all precinct 2. However, she actually votes in precinct 6, because she LIVES in that precinct."

August 21, 2026 - Notice is hereby given of a drawing to determine the order in which the names of candidates are to be printed on the ballot for the election to be held on November 3, 2026 in Shelby County, Texas. The drawing will be held at 10am on August 24, 2026 at 124 Austin Street, Center, Texas.

May 18, 2026 - Early voting for the May 26 Primary Runoff Elections begins Monday, May 18 at the Center Community House, 423 San Augustine Street, Center, Texas.

Early voting dates and times are as follows:

• Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22 - 7am to 7pm

Election Day is Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

March 30, 2026 - The May Uniform Election Day for local non-county political subdivisions such as cities and schools is Saturday, May 2, 2026.

The entities hosting an election May 2nd are: City of Tenaha, City of Timpson, Shelbyville ISD, and Timpson ISD.
