January 11, 2016 - The Shelby County Bass Anglers will hold their annual awards banquet for the 2015 season this Thursday, January 14th at 6:30pm at the John Windham Civic Center. This year’s guest speaker will be BASS elite angler Keith Combs, and the President of the Texas Association of Bass Clubs will also be in attendance to present jackets to the TABC State Championship team of Shelby County.
October 12, 2015 - Classic winners third place Frank and Selvin Cartwright, second place and day two big bass, Cody Barton and Jacob Permenter, Classic Champions John Olive and Jason Wells, and kneeling Day one big bass David Koonce.
September 29, 2015 - The Shelby County Bass Anglers competed in the Texas Association of Bass Clubs State Championship last weekend on Lake Falcon Reservoir out of Zapata on the Texas/Mexico border. Each club team consisted of the top eight anglers from their organizations fishing 2 men per boat. The TABC championship consisted of twenty six 4 boat teams from all across the state fishing for two days total combined team weights, but only calculating the top three weights daily for each club.
September 15, 2015 - David Koonce and Brandon Wells won a tight tournament with 21.94lbs, anchored by their second place overall big bass of 6.15lbs. The team will be awarded first place plaques sponsored by Schmutz Automotive.
