Donation will benefit students training for aviation careers
June 9, 2021 - Southwest Aerospace Technologies (SWAT) recently donated a large inventory of Global Express parts to Texas State Technical College (TSTC). The parts will be used in the school’s aviation curriculum, which offers Aircraft Airframe Technology and Aircraft Powerplant Technology training, as well as Avionics Technology and Aircraft Pilot Training Technology degree paths.

August 10, 2020 Marshall - Students attending Texas State Technical College's Marshall campus will see differences in how they learn and interact as they start the fall semester on Monday, August 31.
Nathan Cleveland, TSTC's associate provost, said students will notice lots of signage pertaining to campus health and safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will also see directional signs for building entrances and exits.
July 9, 2020 Marshall, Texas - Texas State Technical College's Workforce Training department will offer a commercial driver's license course later this summer.
The course will begin on Monday, August 3. The permit part of the course will be taught through WebEx. The skills portion of the course will be taught at TSTC's Marshall campus. The course lasts five weeks, Monday to Friday. It will enable students to earn a commercial driver's license permit, with testing being done at the Texas Department of Public Safety in Kilgore.
July6, 2020 - Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in the spring, employees have been furloughed or laid off, leading Texas to its highest unemployment rate in years.
When government officials began reopening the state in May, employers started to hire people, including graduates of Texas State Technical College.
Kacey Darnell, TSTC’s executive director of Career Services, said employers continue to contact her office for prospective employees.
June 16, 2020 - The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund provides Texas State Technical College with the means to help full- and part-time students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nearly $4.9 million in funding has been received by TSTC for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations because of the coronavirus, including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance.
So far, TSTC has awarded $3 million in CARES Act funds to 2,659 students statewide.
April 30, 2020 - Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is welcoming a limited number of students, faculty, and staff back to our 10 campuses on Monday, May 4. These students are being allowed back onto campus because they are studying in programs that require them to complete hands-on lab work in order to finalize their semester.
January 17, 2020 Marshall - Texas State Technical College's Workforce Training department will host a continuing education class on solar energy from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, in the South Building on the Marshall campus.
"We have a lot of people in East Texas that can make use of solar energy to power up remote areas on their property," said Dirk Hughes, TSTC's executive director of Workforce Training in Marshall.
