October 21, 2024 - On November 3, visitors will get free day-use entry at all Texas State Parks in honor of Texas State Parks Day, a tradition born from 2023's centennial celebration.
“Any day in a Texas State Park is a good day,” said Rodney Franklin, Director of Texas State Parks. “I hope this continued event from our centennial celebration motivates all Texans to explore what the outdoors has to offer. You are invited to visit a park that is new to you, take a friend and try a new adventure.”
November 21, 2023 – Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will accept applications through November 30 for the 67th Texas Game Warden and State Park Police Cadet class. The academy is aimed at those interested in joining the next generation of elite state law enforcement officers.
November 17, 2023 – Texas State Parks is kicking off the holiday season with close to 100 special seasonal activities happening across the state. Starting this month, visitors of all ages can enjoy themed guided walks, crafting events, educational opportunities and more.
November 5, 2015 - Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will be setting up a voluntary deer check station in Shelby County at Wulf Outdoors parking lot on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 9am to 1pm. Wulf Outdoors is located on the corner of Hurst Street and Timpson Highway. Hunters who wish to have their deer aged and sampled for chronic wasting disease (CWD) can bring their deer by and a TPWD biologist will collect a tissue sample and provide the hunter with a receipt for the sample.
