Nigerian “Prince” Sentenced for Federal Fraud Violations

March 31, 2022 – A Nigerian man has been sentenced to federal prison for federal fraud violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston today.

Sobanke Idris Sunday Adereti, 24, pleaded guilty on Oct. 25, 2021, to passport fraud and attempted bank fraud, and was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle.

Smith County Man Sentenced in East Texas Marijuana Cultivation Operation

November 12, 2019 Tyler, Texas – A 26-year-old Tyler, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown today.

Eduardo Pineda pleaded guilty on July 25, 2019, to manufacturing and possessing with intent to manufacture and distribute marijuana and was sentenced to 108 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle.

Panola County Man Convicted of Drug Trafficking, Tampering, Obstruction Charges

July 1, 2019 - A 30-year-old Carthage, Texas man has been convicted of federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown today.

Winfred Earl Ware, Jr. was found guilty by a jury on June 28, 2019, of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, obstruction of justice and witness tampering following a two-week trial before U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

Shelby County Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges

October 26, 2018 Beaumont, Texas — A 21-year-old Joaquin, Texas man has been arrested on child exploitation charges in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown today.

Alexander Nathan Barter was arrested on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, in Joaquin, and appeared today in Beaumont before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Giblin for an initial appearance. 

Barter has been charged in a federal complaint with attempted coercion and enticement and will return to court on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 for detention and preliminary hearings.
